Residents in Thanet are invited to learn more about the proposed revisions to the council’s Draft Local Plan by attending one of seven public engagement sessions being held across the district.
The consultation which runs from Friday 20 January – Friday 17 March (5pm), is seeking views on specific revisions to the Draft Local Plan (preferred options), which include additional housing sites and the re-designation of the Manston airport site for mixed use development.
The public engagement sessions will take place at:
28 January – Thanet Gateway Meeting Room B (9am-12pm)
23 February – Thanet Gateway Meeting Room A (5pm-8pm)
3 February – Kent Innovation Centre (9am-12pm)
17 February – Kent Innovation centre, Board Room (1pm – 5pm)
6 February – Ramsgate Town Council (9am-12pm)
14 February – Ramsgate Town Council (1pm-4.30pm)
15 February – King Ethelbert’s School (9am – 12pm)
20 February - Holiday Inn, Minster, Oliver Hill Conference Room (1pm - 5pm)
The public engagement sessions will provide residents with the opportunity to find out more about the proposed revisions, including seeing maps and detailed plans, and to discuss these with council officers.
Anyone who submits their views, which can be made online, should include evidence as a way of supporting their comments, where possible, so that the council can consider that evidence before preparing a draft Plan for Examination by an independent Planning Inspector.
