Candidates confirmed for Kent Police and Crime Commissioner election

The candidates have been confirmed for the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner election which takes place on Thursday 2 May 2024.

Three candidates will contest the election, and they are:

Graham David Colley (Liberal Democrats)
Lenny Rolles (Labour and Co-operative Party)
Matthew Richard Scott (The Conservative Party)

To vote, electors must have registered by Tuesday 16 April 2024 and must also have a valid form of photographic ID. People without suitable photo ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate , the deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 24 April.

There have been changes to the way postal votes can be submitted, which come into force from Thursday 2 May 2024. Anyone submitting postal votes on behalf of other people will only be able to hand over their own, plus a maximum of five others.

The easiest way to submit postal votes is by post.

The deadline to apply for new postal votes is 5pm on Wednesday 17 April 2024.

Polling stations open at 7am on Thursday 2 May and close at 10pm.

The count will take place on Sunday 5 May, with a declaration expected that afternoon.
