Brief description
This beach has a sandy bay with cliffs. The bay has beach huts from Easter to September. The bay is surrounded by a concrete sea wall with railings. At high tide the bay is completely covered by the sea. The bay has excellent rock pools. The bay is flanked by Sea Road, which is a residential area. This area is west facing so is in a great location for sunsets. There is also a large grassed area on the cliff top with cliff top paths that follow the coast.
Westgate Pavilion is on the cliff top. The sea wall is wider in some parts as it follows the cliff formation around the bay.
NB. There is a dog ban from 1 May until 30 September between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00.
West Bay is a Blue Flag bay 2019
