Does your neighbourhood need a deep clean?

  • Does your neighbourhood need a deep clean?

The council runs a programme of monthly deep clean days in different locations across the district. Deep cleans are a collaborative approach between a number of council departments to try and make a significant impact on a specific area in a short space of time. Residents and community groups, and other external agencies can also get involved. Activities that make up a deep-clean include, litter picking, pavement washing, weeding, and the removal of fly posting and fly tipping, amongst other services.

The locations of these deep cleans are chosen based on reports we receive, feedback and nominations from residents, alongside our own data about which areas are in need of attention.

We also ask residents who nominate their area to help us with distribution of important information in the run up to the deep clean day, for example asking neighbours to move their cars so the road is as accessible as possible. Some residents also join in with their own litter pick of surroundings on the day, where possible.
