Thanet District Council and our contractors must report building fire and structural safety incidents and risks to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).
Residents and other users of our high-rise buildings may see a safety issue before we do. You can report concerns about the fire or structural safety of one of our high-rise buildings using the form above. You can upload photos and videos here.

If we decide to report the incident to the BSR we will use the Mandatory Occurrence Reporting system.
If you give us your details when completing the form. We can let you know if we have reported what you have told us to the BSR. and give you the Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR) reference number. You can quote this to us in any correspondence.
If we decide not to report the incident to the BSR we will tell you why. This could be because it did not meet the risk criteria, or needs to be dealt with differently.
PermalinkWhen we receive a report that meets the risk criteria for the MOR system we will report it immediately to the BSR. We will then have 10 days to submit a follow on report.
We will investigate to establish what happened (or could happen), and why.
We may need to contact you to ask for more details, as part of our investigation.
PermalinkYes. Information will be processed in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Other residents will be told that there has been a report but will not be told who reported it.
We may share the information you have provided with the BSR.

When an investigation has finished we will let you know. We will also let the other residents of the block know.
PermalinkWe will carry out annual reviews of our process to make sure that it stays effective.
