Update: Residents at four roads in Margate that had been evacuated by Kent Police this evening (Wednesday 8 October), are now able to return home.
Residents had been evacuated following a report of a property containing suspicious items.
The roads which were affected were: Rosedale Road, Glencoe Road, Wharfedale Road and Malham Drive.
Thanet District Council set up a welfare centre to support any residents who were displaced as a result of the evacuation. This was located at Hartsdown Leisure Centre in Margate.
Kent Police has now confirmed that it is safe for all residents to return to their homes.
