Council Tax refunds
You can ask for a refund if you’ve overpaid your Council Tax or if a change in your circumstances means your account is in credit.
How refunds work
- We send all refunds directly to your bank account (BACS).
- A refund is not guaranteed just by filling out the form. We must first check your account to confirm you are owed the money.
If you owe Council Tax from a previous year or on a different account, we will not send you a cash refund. Instead, we will use the credit to pay off your debt.
