Sports Facilities

The Council is responsible for a number of sports facilities across the district ranging from grass pitches, to tennis courts, multi-use games areas and leisure centres.

A local leisure trust, Your Leisure, have responsibility for managing many of the leisure facilities on behalf of the Council, delivering health and fitness opportunities for people of all ages throughout the District. These include;

Sports Pitches

Open Spaces manage the bookings for outdoor pitches in parts of the district. These include football pitches, cricket pitches.

Margate Beach Sports Courts

This facility provides a dedicated sports court area suitable for beach volleyball, soccer and a range of other beach sports.

Other Sports

The District Council also owns a number of tennis courts, multi-use games areas, skateparks and adventure playgrounds. Access to these varies with some being freely open, others being run on a pay and play basis and some being run by local clubs. Bowling/croquet greens – all of the Council owned facilities are now managed by local clubs. They deal with memberships and set the costs of hire.
