        Parks and play areas

Thanet has over 70 parks and open spaces, including areas such as recreation grounds, churchyards and memorial gardens.

The Council provides 31 play areas across Thanet, featuring play equipment for all ages.

There are two skate park facilities based at Lymington Road, Westgate and the Warre Recreation Ground behind Ramsgate swimming pool.

These Council owned areas of land are provided for the benefit and enjoyment of both residents and visitors.

The Grounds maintenance team are responsible for the horticultural maintenance of a wide range of facilities, including the area’s parks and open spaces, churchyards, the crematorium and cemeteries, sports ground facilities and other land owned by the Council.

Requests from people for improvements to existing play areas and for new sites are dealt with by this department. Please contact us if you have any queries.
