The Environment and Safety Information Act 1988 was enacted to establish public registers of certain notices served concerning health, safety and environmental protection and for related purposes. Under the Act, Thanet District Council, Regulatory Services are required by law to keep a register of improvement notices issued under sections 21 and prohibition notices issued under section 22 under Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. The register is available upon request from members of the public, records prior to 2022 are held on the historic register.
Information on notices issued under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 will not be published that impose requirements or prohibitions solely for the protection of persons at work, only when they relate to the protection of others not at work.
