Thanet District Council looking to lease the Old Town Hall, Margate
Thanet District Council’s Cabinet agreed a proposal to let the Grade II listed Old Town Hall in Market Place, Margate on Thursday 28 April 2022.
We are now seeking a tenant for the entire two-storey building under a new lease agreement, and marketing will commence on Friday 1 July 2022.
Margate’s Market Place has become a hive of activity in recent years, with boutique shops, cafes, bars and restaurants opening. An important part of this regeneration is the restoration and effective use of the Town Hall building as a focal point and landmark in the Old Town.
The Old Town Hall would suit conversion to a boutique hotel, business centre or retail unit. A significant amount of renovation work is required to bring the Old Town Hall up to standard and this will be reflected in any lease deal. Please note that the Margate Museum building does not form part of the offer.
The Old Town Hall is being marketed by Oakwood Commercial and full and final bids must be received in writing or by email by noon on Tuesday 12 August 2022. To book a viewing, please contact Oakwood on commercial@oakwoodhomes.biz or call 01843 222704.
