Landlords and managing agents with responsibility for residential properties in Thanet are invited to an informative event on Thursday 25 September 2025.
The session is hosted by Thanet District Council and happens annually, in partnership with the Thanet Landlords’ Focus Group.
The event is on Thursday 25 September 2025 at the Queens Road Baptist Church, Queens Road, Broadstairs CT10 1NU. Doors open at 4.30pm, for a 5pm start. Refreshments will be provided on arrival, free of charge.
Anyone that would like to attend should complete a booking form before the deadline of Friday 19 September.
This year’s event will feature informative presentations by barristers from Beckett Chambers, the National Residential Landlords Association and iHowz. There will also be a question and answer session with panel members and attendees are invited to submit questions in advance. There will also be the opportunity to network and engage with speakers and participants.
Officers from the council’s Housing Options, Private Sector Housing, and Home Energy teams will be on hand to share information on the support that the council offers to landlords. They will also have details of grants available to improve energy efficiency in rented accommodation. Partner agencies, including the Department for Work and Pensions, Kent Police and Thanet Community Safety team, will also be there along with local letting agents.
Cllr Helen Whitehead, Cabinet Member for Housing at Thanet District Council, said:
“We know just how challenging the rental market is currently, both for residents facing challenges around cost of living and housing availability, and for landlords supporting residents with both. We run this event every year to build and maintain strong relationships with local landlords, and to provide an open forum to discuss challenges and provide resources and support.
“This event offers a crucial platform for landlords and managing agents to connect, gain essential insights on diverse topics impacting them and their tenants. There are opportunities to learn about the council’s comprehensive support, including assistance with preventing evictions, empty properties, and fee-free tenant placement.
“Through our collaborative efforts, we can work towards providing high-quality, energy-efficient housing for the people in our community who need it most.”
Landlords and managing agents who would like to attend the event should complete the online booking form by Friday 19 September 2025.
