External Funding and Grants Protocol

On the 13 November 2009 the External Funding Protocol was introduced to budget managers at the budget managers forum.

At Governance and Audit on 24 June 2015 an updated external funding and grants protocol was approved.

This will reduce the council’s risk of grant repayment and ensure value for money, which must be followed by any member of staff applying or dealing with external funding or payments of grants to third parties.

All external funding bids must be sent to the External Funding Officer and approved by CMT, before being submitted to the external funder. This ensures CMT and accountancy are kept informed of the funding the council is accessing and makes sure it doesn’t put the council at risk.
