Hackney Carriage Vehicle Transfer (changing vehicles only)
Please only use this process if you are keeping your licence but transferring it to a different vehicle.
You must email your transfer paperwork and a request for a visual inspection via the online request form.
What you need to provide:
- Download the transfer application form (send your documents to licensing@thanet.gov.uk).
- Valid vehicle insurance.
- A Certificate of Compliance (from our list of approved garages).
- Proof of vehicle ownership.
- Visual examination and meter test records.
- Vehicle transfer: £134.00 + £19.80 plate fee = £153.80
- Electric: £0 + £19.80 plate fee = £19.80
