Local lettings plans for Thanet
A Local Lettings Plan (LLP) is an agreement between the council and housing associations (if relevant). It sets out additional criteria for who can live in certain properties in a specific area. We only use these plans in special circumstances to help fix local issues and make sure the community is balanced.
For example, a plan might prioritise people who are already in social housing and want to move. This helps free up their old home for someone else. We might also look at things like the number of working households or the ages of children in the area to make sure there is a good mix of people. Sometimes, we use LLPs to tackle problems like anti-social behaviour.
These plans have their own allocation criteria. If a property has an LLP, we will write this clearly on the property advert so you know the rules before you apply.
