Notice of Intention to Commence Local Plan Preparation, published 12 June 2026, to commence the preparation of the Thanet Local Plan.
Thanet District Council is preparing the new Thanet Local Plan. The new Thanet Local Plan will cover the Thanet administrative area.
The 30-month plan preparation process will begin on 30 October 2026 – view the full Local Plan Timetable on our website.
This notice is also available to download as a PDF and is available for inspection at:
Thanet Gateway Plus, Cecil Street, Margate, CT9 1RE, and Town and Parish Council offices during their normal opening hours, and at local libraries in Margate, Birchington, Broadstairs, Cliftonville, Minster, Newington, Ramsgate and Westgate during their normal opening hours.
