Action Against Litter newsletter – Issue 11

Thanet District Council wishes to extend an enormous and heartfelt thank you to every single person who has joined in the fight against litter this year. Together, your efforts have been monumental.

This includes our dedicated Street Cleansing teams, who work tirelessly, often in challenging conditions, to maintain the cleanliness of our towns every day.

We also recognise the immense contributions of the huge numbers of volunteers – the backbone of our local environmental efforts – who regularly take time to participate in litter picks and beach cleans. A special appreciation goes to the people who organise and coordinate these invaluable community groups, providing the structure and motivation for sustained action.

The cumulative activity you undertake, from removing discarded plastic and harmful waste to clearing fly-tipping hot spots, has a profound and measurable impact. Your hard work helps to keep our streets safe, our precious green spaces clean, and our beautiful coastline and marine environment free from polluting litter. This commitment safeguards local wildlife and enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors.
