You must be registered to carry out any of the following types of skin piercing:
- Acupuncture
- Tattooing
- Skin-Piercing
- Electrolysis
- Semi permanent skin colouring
Personal Licence
You will need a personal licence which will cover you for working anywhere in Thanet – we no longer need to know if you move to work at another business, unless it is your premises and you are moving the whole business, then you will need to register the new premises.
Business Premises Licence
All business premises must be registered, we no longer need to know who is working at your premises, therefore you do not need to do a variation each time someone new comes to work at your premises or if someone leaves.
A premises is normally defined in law as a “piece of land and the buildings thereon”. We cannot, therefore, legally register mobile skin piercing activities (e.g. adapted vans, trailers, tents or stalls).
You must provide specific information including details of your premises and any previous convictions for practicing without a licence in this field.
