Applications must be accompanied by the following documentation:
- provision of suitable vehicle insurance
- certificate of compliance – list of approved garages
- proof of ownership
- visual examination & meter test

Vehicle transfer procedure
Please contact the licensing department licensing@thanet.gov.uk to book a visual inspection with us. Visuals only take place on a Tuesday or Thursday morning.
Once your vehicle has passed the visual inspection we will issue you compliance paperwork to take to the garage.
You need to supply the following to us once your vehicle has had its visual –
A completed application form (this must be filled in by the licence holder)
Vehicle registration document or new keepers slip
Certificate of compliance and checklist
Valid up to date insurance which must show for hire and reward

The fee for a vehicle transfer (including Hybrid etc) is £129.00
