Action Against Litter – Newsletter Issue 5
“Thank you and well done” to all the community groups and individuals who collected so many bags over the two week Great British Spring Clean 2022 and to all our fantastic litter pickers and community litter picking groups across the Thanet District, you are truly brilliant!
Cllr Ruth Bailey organised a litter pick in Broadstairs in partnership with students from Broadstairs College as part of their Community Week last Friday.
Cllr Ruth Bailey says Thank you! to the students from Broadstairs College who joined us for a community litter pick around the Broadstairs and Pierremont Park on Friday 25th March as part of the #keepbritaintidy #GreatBritishSpringClean which happily coincided with the college’s community week. It was great to also have the support of Cllr Mike Garner and regular community litter picker Paul as well as College staff.
We collected quite a haul between us and must have picked up hundreds of cigarette ends, amongst lots of other varied detritus.
Thank you to the #BroadstairsTownTeam for loaning us their litter picking equipment.
Thank you to TDC for collecting the bags.
