A new community skatepark for Margate
We are bringing new life to Ethelbert Crescent with a brand-new skatepark. Our goal is to create a safe space for young people that the whole town can be proud of.
What to expect from the new park:
- Free for everyone: The park will be completely free to use. It will be a welcoming community hub for skaters, friends, and families to spend time together.
- For all skill levels: Whether you are an absolute beginner or an expert skateboarder, the park is designed for you.
- Coaching and events: In the future, we hope to team up with local community groups and experts to offer skills coaching, workshops, and events.
Who is building it?
Betongpark Limited will design and build the skatepark. They are an award-winning company known for creating amazing concrete skateparks across the UK and Europe.
Have your say
The new designs will be shared with the public. There will be the chance to see the plans and share feedback directly to the project team.

It will:
- Provide a fun, completely free place to go.
- Boost physical and mental health through exercise and socialising.
- Provide a space where people can build confidence, skills and relationships.
- Inspire the next generation of top-flight skateboarders!
For the town, it will:
- Turn an empty, underused space into something Margate can be proud of.
- Attract visitors and tourists all year round.
- Bring more money into the local area.
- Create new jobs and opportunities for local people.
- Updating the designs: The skatepark’s design will be reviewed and modified to reflect feedback.
- Independent check: An independent expert will review the updated plans.
- Planning permission: The final plans will be submitted for formal planning approval.
- Building begins: As soon as planning permission is approved, construction will start on site.
