Coastal education in action

This summer our Education team has been busy working with children, families and community groups across Thanet’s coastline.

Activities have included:

• Beach exploration sessions
• Creative drop in workshops
• Plastic pollution and litter education
• Seashore wildlife activities
• Recycling and environmental awareness sessions

Through hands-on activities, children have been encouraged to explore the coast and discover the wildlife that lives there, while learning about the impact that litter and pollution can have on the marine environment.

The aim is to help children understand why keeping our beaches clean matters and to give them positive actions they can take themselves.
