Message from the Council Leader

The following statement is issued on behalf of the Council Leader, Councillor Ash Ashbee.

“Tim Willis was suspended by the Council in August 2019. This should not have happened and on behalf of Thanet District Council, I apologise to him for that. The Council’s General Purposes Committee subsequently unanimously dismissed all allegations against Tim Willis. He leaves the employment of the Council with a spotless employment record, and I would like to thank him for his service.”

Advice against bathing at Thanet beaches

Update: Wednesday 9 September 9.20am The pollution risk warning from the Environment Agency has now been lifted, so signs advising members of the public against bathing or entering the sea, are being removed today at West Bay, Westgate and Fulsam Rock, Margate.
